Taiwan Economic News has reported that Apple has already made deals with two lens makers to supply an 8-MegaPixel lenses for the new iPhone.
According to the report, Largan Precision and Genius Electronic Optical which were the suppliers for the iPhone 4’s 5-MegaPixel camera are the two manufacturers for the the new iPhone camera.
Thanks to the iPhone 4, both Largan and Genius had about about 27.5% of the global market share last year.
The two companies are reported to continue supplying lenses for Apple’s newest iPhone 5 with an 8-megapixel camera. With relatively higher production yield, Largan, commanding nearly 20% of the global market, will reportedly garner a big order from Apple.
If there is any thing is confirmed about the iPhone 5, It will be that it will surely have a 8-MP camera.
