Apple has just released it`s Find My Friends social network for iOS 5 which was introduced at Apple`s “Let`s talk iPhone” media event. Find My Friends is a new iCloud-based application allowing users to pin their selected friends’ locations on a map as well as share their locations with them.

Find My Friends is also integrated with maps and contacts. So, you`ll be able to find routes to a specific place and check the location of someone that`s already in your address book.

What`s really great about this app is that it has temporary location sharing which gives you more privacy in that you can send GPS information to friends for a limited period of time could be hours or days. Once that period is over, the app stops sharing.

This app won`t be stalkers door to your iPhone. You can easily accept or decline friend requests from Find My Friends, and Apple has integrated also parental controls restricting minors from having access to the apps location features.

iOS 5 is required for the Find My Friends app. iOS 5 is expected to become available later today.
