Apple in a statement today to AllThingsD said that they have found some bugs that are affecting the battery`s performance and will release a software in the next couple of weeks to address these issues. Apple didn’t elaborate on what kind of bugs are causing this.
A small number of customers have reported lower than expected battery life on iOS 5 devices. We have found a few bugs that are affecting battery life and we will release a software update to address those in a few weeks.
It was reported before that the Location Services,specifically the “Time Zone Settings†could be the reason behind all this battery sucking for the iPhone automatically tries to set your time zone even if there`s no indication that a user changed his time zone.
So far all we got is a problem and speculations. Hopefully Apple`s software will put an end to that.
