Microsoft’s Chief Research and Strategy Officer, Craig Mundie was
interviewed few days ago and about siri he said “Apple’s Siri isn’t new
technology, and that Apple had focused on it due to the iPhone 4S’s
lack of features.Siri`s application has nothing special in,and it’s all
about the heavy advertising held for it via the communication
vehicles.”That was a reply of Matthew Miller “Frankly, we were quite surprised by the results as we knew Siri was good (nowhere close to perfect), but we didn’t expect Microsoft’s TellMe service to be so bad.”In comparison, I regard Siri as a speech interaction technology. Because it places much more emphasis on context, it appears to be accurate enough for the limited set of functionality it provides. Speech recognition might not be new technology, but Siri definitely puts a pretty face on it.
