Facebook may soon add video chat to its newly–released new messaging app Facebook Messenger for iPhone, Android and BlackBerry according to Italian blog iPhoneItalia.
According to the blog, Facebook has released a beta test of the new feature to developers only. Hackers rummaging around in the new app have discovered traces of a video chat feature which appears to be in progress.
The blog posted very rough basic screenshots of the video feature. The screenshot shows the app running on an iPod although the source only talks about it coming to the iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S.
This rumor has some credibility to it since it is the same source which tipped us off about the app allowing its users to chat with friends outside the social network.
The service will be probably coming in the following months. Stay tuned.
