We have some disappointing news today advising against using the H1 Siri port. We have received confirmation that H1 Siri app uses Apple`s own code infringing by this on Apple`s copyrights rendering the app illegal to use and we are back to square one.
That`s one reason why you shouldn’t use the port, but that`s not the end of it. Hacker Plamoni shows in his latest video that the issue of legality is not the only problem with this app. H1 Siri could give third party control over your device.
Let`s see how that works, using H1 Siri means you`re sending your personal data through someone else`s servers which potentially means they could spy on what `s going on with your iDevice or even take control of it as shown in Plamoni`s video.
The video reveals how easy it is for a remote SiriProxy to send SMS messages from your iPhone without your knowledge. You, in short, have no idea what`s going on behind the scenes. There could be all kinds on plugins installed.
While Pete’s video shows an SMS being sent to a phone number in his address book, it is theoretically possible to send messages to any number. This means that a compromised SiriProxy sever could have your phone send SMS messages to premium rate numbers, costing you a small fortune in the process.
If you want to protect your privacy, don`t use a SiriProxy you have no control over. You don`t know what kind of plugins running in the back.
