Apple lovers and products owners know that the fruit company is not all permissive when it comes to its firmware. Of the number of things Apple doesn’t allow you to do once you are on an iOS is downgrade to an earlier version which proven problematic and frustrating for many users, but thanks to the jailbreak community, downgrading is made possible.

With the iOS 5.1.1 release, users are hesitant whether to upgrade or not lest they should lose their jailbroken statuses since, as you are probably aware, iOS 5.0.1 is the last version with an untethered jailbreak. So, how would you like to be able to upgrade to iOS 5.1.1 to check things out, and if you feel like the upgrade is just not for you, you can downgrade again?

Well, it is possible.MuscleNerd has tweeted today that they are working on a RedSnow jailbreak tool update that will allow iPhone 4S, iPad 2 and iPad 3 users to downgrade to iOS 5.1 or earlier.

The news is refreshing, hopeful and pushes us farther away from Apple`s shackles, which is the core of jailbreaking. Downgrading to earlier iOS version requires that you have already saved your SHSH blobs and AP Ticket before upgrading. If you are not sure, Cydia might have saved it for you.

We don`t know when the iPhone Dev team will release the update, but we are enthusiastic and ready. Judging by the Team`s history, it shouldn’t be far off.

We will update you as soon as we hear any news.
