A report over at a Finnish site, Kauppalehti.fi, describes an incident where a 17-year old’s iPhone spontaneously combusted, and started emitting huge amounts of smoke.
The combustion started while the device was still in the guy’s back pocket, and he was quick enough to remove it from there, throw it and get away as early as possible to avoid any damage to himself.
