Court Dismisses Portion of Apple’s App Store Suite Against Amazon

In March 2011 Apple sued Amazon over their use of “Appstore” for their new app store and in September of 2012, Amazon asked the judge to throw out the case based largely on both Steve Jobs and Tim Cook referring generically to competitors’ offerings as “app stores” as well. Today a judge granted that request and dismissed the case.
