Yesterday, Apple released iOS 6.1.2 which patched an Exchange calendar bug which was causing battery drain and increased network activity. The good news is that the Evasi0n untether exploit remains unpatched. In order to jailbreak iOS 6.1.2, the Evad3rs have released Evasi0n 1.4 to jailbreak devices on the new 6.1.2 firmware.

Evasion 1.4 – Linux
Step 1: Download the Evasi0n jailbreak tool above for your corresponding OS. Prepare your device by restoring a fresh 6.1 firmware if you haven’t already and run a backup of your device. If you have a passcode lock, please disable it now as it may interfere with the process.
Step 2: Open Evasi0n and it should detect your device and firmware version. All you need to do is hit the “jailbreak” button to initiate the process.
Step 3: Once you have hit jailbreak, do not turn your device off, do not even touch it. Let the Evasi0n tool do it’s job. It will go through a series of stages.
Step 4: Once Evasi0n has done it’s thing, you will get this screen which tells you to tap an icon that should now be on your iPhone homescreen called “jailbreak.” Tap the icon once, and then let Evasi0n do it’s thing again, do not tap the icon more than once.
Step 5: Evasi0n is now complete, the rest of the process should happen on the device. Your device will reboot and you will see an Evasi0n boot screen that says “cleaning up” and once your phone reboots, you will have Cydia on your homescreen! Easy huh?
Let us know how it goes for you!
