There have been so many reports over the last few months about a budget iPhone release in fall (the same time given for iPhone 5). There has been a lot of evidence regarding this expectation, with plastic iPhone shells being the latest among the lot.

Regarding the discovered evidence, Michael Kukielka (the DetroitBrog) has published a video featuring a while plastic shell for the iPhone. He goes in-depth with it and compares it video current iPhone and iPod Touch models.

There are several things evident. The plastic case is similar to the ones that made appearance before and also the fact that the Michael considers it as a link up of iPod Touch and iPhone 3GS. This also coordinates with Jewermy Horwitz’s report published back in January.

“Apple’s budget housing looks closest to the iPod classic in shape, though not in materials. Unlike the plastic iPhone 3G/3GS, which featured soft curves on all sides, the budget iPhone’s curves start and end at flat surfaces, so each side and the back are flat. This seems like a trivial change, until you realize that it allows Apple to use flat rather than curve-matched parts: the right side has a flat, centered SIM card tray just like the iPhone 5’s, while all of the buttons and ports are on flat rather than curved surfaces. A flat-backed iPhone won’t rock on a flat surface when it vibrates, either.”

All the reports and rumors so far are all making one thing clear, that the handset is going to be made up of plastic and metal, featuring rounded edges if it happens. The price is said to be around $300.

Experts suggest that Apple will enjoy a greater market share in countries like India, China and Russia with such a release, while there will be also something for the consumers in U.S. who buy subsidized handsets from carriers.
