It’s more going to be a ‘champagne’ color rather than pure gold.

Report from MG Siegler:
“Yes, there will be a gold iPhone.
That’s the latest I’m hearing from multiple sources after several weeks of rumors and possible component leaks suggesting the same thing. At first, I couldn’t believe Apple would break from the tradition of offering the simple choice: black and white (or “slate†and “silver†if you prefer for the iPhone 5) for their flagship device. Gold simply seemed too gaudy, perhaps even tacky. But a few compelling arguments countered my disbelief. And now, upon checking, sure enough, there will be gold.â€
Siegler track record of Apple predictions is pretty accurate. He suggested iTunes Radio and other offerings from Apple months before their launch, and according to the reports, the gold color looks likely to happen.
The original rumors started months ago when a golden SIM card tray surfaced on the web.
The rumors took the shape of a possibility when the Japanese blog Macotakara called for the gold iPhone, and since then, Ming-Chi Kuo has also been pretty active about it.
Seigler explains its more champagne than gold color.
“Perhaps most importantly, I’m told that the golden iPhone will not be a totally blinged-out gold.
…Think: less “gold†and more “champagneâ€. In other words, more like the old gold iPod mini. (Incidentally, this model of the iPod mini was the shortest-lived, presumably because it was less popular.) The gold tone also apparently shifts depending on how light is hitting it.â€
What’s interesting will be Apple’s marketing plan for the golden iPhone. It may also be made exclusive to high storage iPhone 5S options such as the 128 GB or 64 GB variants, or may be made available with the silver and slate options.
Apple is going to launch the iPhone 5S on September 10. It has been expected to come with a camera upgrade, a sapphire covered Home button and a built-in sensor.
What do you think about the golden iPhone?
