The new update can be installed by going to Settings > General > Software update on iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c. The other way to install is to connect to the computer and launch the latest version of iTunes.
Some experts note that iOS 7 asks iPhone 5s owners Apple ID and password for purchases, even though authorization has been granted through the Touch ID.
The bug was noted by WSJ’s Walt Mossberg in his iPhone 5s review:
There is one bug in the system: Sometimes, while trying to use a finger to authenticate an online purchase, the phone asks for a password. Apple says it expects to fix this bug very quickly.
Apart from that, users have also discovered lock screen vulnerability on iOS 7 that allow attackers to use sequence of touches to go past the lock screen and gain access to texts, email and photos. Apple’s Trudy Muller says and update will be released soon to fix it.
Web logs says that Apple is testing iOS 7.1 or iOS 7.0.2 for a while so the new update would come soon.
iOS 7 is going to be Apple’s biggest “product†(as some commentators have called it) since the iPhone itself, as this version changes everything that we’ve come to associate with and love about the iPhone and iPad. The introduction of certain new features, and the visual overhaul are clear indicators that Apple is here to stay for long, and they are willing to do everything to make sure that iPhone continues to be a success. How the market will react to it, we’ll find out on Friday.
Have you updated to iOS 7? Are you aware of the issue? Feel free to leave comments.
