OS X Mavericks free today, Apple confirms!

As we, and others, have been speculating in the past few weeks before the event, Apple’s OS X Mavericks is now a reality. The company has announced that it will be available starting from today free of cost.

Starting today, the OS will be available for MacBook Pros and iMac, models start from 2007. As for Mac Pro, MacBook and MacBook Air, it will be available for models starting from 2008. And the Mac Mini models starting from 2009 is eligible for the update.

 The company first previewed Mavericks in June during the developer’s conference (WWDC), and since then, there have been several betas released as well as the GM update, which indicated that OS X Mavericks would finally ship in October.

 Though the OS has not received a complete redesign as iOS 7 did, OS X Mavericks ships with above 200 new features and has been geared towards users. They will now be able to enjoy multiple support display, new Maps, Finder Features, iCloud Keychain, iBooks, Screen notifications, auto app updates, and more to improve performance and battery life.
