The stats are not surprising, as people can’t image leaving their homes without iPhones, but iPad is used morel a mac, iPod or television. Fortune says:
“We think Apple would prefer the iPad become a big iPhone,†the report concludes. “We suspect, though, based on recent CIRP data about how buyers use them, that it’s as much like a Mac, TV, or iPod, with less frequent replacement.â€
Another interesting stat is that 4 out of 10 people will gift their older iPad to friend or family after buying new one. iPhone users on the other hand are happy trading the handset when upgrading, which supports the stat that their only a percent or two percent iPhone owners purchase their first phone. The first time iPad buyers accounted for 78% last December.
