Apple granted major patent for multimode fingerprint reader

Earlier this afternoon, we reported that the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office on Tuesday granted Apple with a large portfolio of 48 patents covering a broad range of inventions. Following the curved touch panel patent, we now look at a major patent for an electronic device with a multimode fingerprint reader.
