Beats Music and Spotify among app revenue leaders as popularity of streaming music services continues to rise

As mobile users increasingly transition towards paying for music streaming services based on in-app purchases, streaming music apps by Apple, Pandora and Spotify were among the leaders in app revenue for the first time during August. According to San Francisco-based firm App Annie, the three apps were among the top 10 of all non-game apps.
