Earlier today, App Store has just received a new update bringing a new section called “Apps for health”, as you guessed, this section lists several apps that use iOS 8′s Health app to aggregate health and fitness data into a unified location for users.
After delaying HealthKit-compatible apps due to a critical bug in the first version of iOS 8, Apple released iOS 8.0.2 on Thursday and quickly began approving apps that take advantage of the health-tracking features the following day. Now, Apple has created this new section in an effort to promote apps that have received their HealthKit updates.
Apps compatible with HealthKit:
- FitStar Personal Trainer (free) – workout plans
- Calorie Counter & Diet Tracker (free) – as the name implies
- Human (free) – activity and calorie tracker
- Noom Coach (free) – weight loss
- Yummly (free) – recipes and grocery shopping list

- Fitnet Personal Fitness Workouts (free) – the name says it all
- MotionX 24/7 ($0.99) – sleep tracking
- CARROT Fit ($2.99) – a workout with a personality
- Zova (free) – workouts for women

- Patient IO (free) – treatment-specific reminders, tasks, and education
