The big news though, is that iOS 8.1 will finally bring Continuity compatibility to the party. That means that you’ll be able to make and receive texts and phone calls from your Mac (it needs OS X Yosemite for this, of course). There are also other neat tricks, like the ability to hand off email from your Mac to your iPad, share Keynote slides, and getting online with your phone’s cellular connectivity via Instant Hotspot.
Apple at today’s media event at its Town Hall campus in Cupertino, California announced that iOS 8.1 will be available this Monday, October 20, with Apple Pay and a number of improvements based on user feedback.
