iOS 8.1.1 will give you 500MB of extra storage space after updating your iPhone or iPad

In the past few months, Apple has come under heavy criticism for selling 8GB and 16GB iOS devices, which barely have enough space for doing OTA updates. It looks like the company is paying attention to that, as it was discovered that updating to iOS 8.1.1 increases the user available storage by 500MB.
