Well, it looks like that we’ve some bad and good news that you need to know. The bad news is that Apple no longer singing iOS 8.1.1 which means that you will not be able to downgrade or upgrade your iPhone to iOS 8.1.1 ios firmware. Users will be forced to install iOS 8.1.2.

Fortunately, there’s good news. The good news is that Apple is of course signing iOS 8.1.2 being that it is the latest publicly available firmware. Since iOS 8.1.2 is jailbreakable with the latest version of the TaiG jailbreak, jailbreakers need not be overly concerned.

As we told you about in a post last month, it’s fairly easy to check the status of Apple’s firmware using the IPSW.me website. For example, if you go to IPSW.me/8.1.1, you’ll see that the signing window for iOS 8.1.1 is now closed. If you go to IPSW.me/8.1.2, you’ll see that the window remains open. Once the next version of iOS 8 is released, presumably iOS 8.1.3, you’ll be able to downgrade back to iOS 8.1.2 as long as it’s still being signed.

Since there is already an iOS 8.1.2 jailbreak, this isn’t that big of a deal, but it’s still worth noting and being aware of. But if Apple releases iOS 8.1.3 or a future update that breaks the TaiG jailbreak, it will be more important to be in the know about firmware signing statuses.
