In the holiday season of 2013, Apple had managed to ship a staggering 51 million iPhones — its highest ever in a quarter.
Various other analysts have pegged Apple to ship anywhere between 60 to 65 million units of the iPhone in Q4, 2014. Another Morgan Stanley’s analyst Jasmine Lu predicts that Apple could ship 65 to 70 million units of the iPhone.
According to Katy Huberty of Morgan Stanely, the demand for the new iPhones is three times greater than previous year in China. While demand in the United States is inline with the global trends, the new iPhones are in significantly high demand in Brazil. However, demand for the handsets seems to have declined in France and Japan — partly because of an increase in consumption tax and the lack of carriers pushing the handset due to certain regulations.
