WhatsApp is testing a ‘low data usage’ mode for its VoIP calling feature

Earlier this year, WhatsApp launched its much anticipated voice calling feature for Android, iOS and Windows Phone users. Since WhatsApp is primarily used in many emerging markets like India, the company has optimised its voice calling feature to make sure that it works well even on low-bandwith 2G connections.
