According to Google, Ivy takes advantage of what’s referred to as exact rational arithmetic, basically a precision math technique which lets the app handle arbitrary precision with ease.
The app includes features like the aforementioned exact rational arithmetic, in addition to arbitrary floating point formatting, big number logarithm and trigonometric functions.
There was no additional information about Ivy available at post time as Google has yet to publish a blog post detailing what the app is all about.
The Go Authors could be a reference to The Go Project, an open source programming language developed by Google and other contributors. As 9to5Mac speculates, it’s certainly plausible that Ivy was developed as a companion tool for the project.
