Apple is expected to make big improvements to its iSight camera for this year’s iPhone refresh, which could see the introduction of a new 12-megapixel sensor — a big step up from the 8-megapixel snappers in the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus.
But that new sensor won’t be any slimmer, it seems. Images of new iPhone 6s components shared by NowhereElse confirm the protruding camera ring will be carried over to Apple’s newest smartphones, so the camera will not sit flush with the case.
Images have also been published of iPhone 6s internal components, including the ribbon cable that connects its power button, volume buttons, and mute switch to the logic board, and its Lightning connector.
Earlier this month, a leaked logic board revealed a new NFC chip, 16Gb of storage, and a reduction in the number of components used.
