Can iCloud Choose To Not Backup a Jailbroken iDevice?

My iPhone keeps saying that it has not had an iCloud backup for x amount of weeks and will do so when it is plunged in and on WiFi. It does register a computer backup. I go to iCloud in settings and choose backup now, and it doesn’t. Is there something that I am doing wrong?
