iOS 10 Security Flaw Allows Brute Forcing iTunes Backup Password ‘Approximately 2500 Times Faster’

Elcomsoft has discovered a major security flaw in iOS 10 backup procedure that allows one to try backup passwords “approximately 2500 times faster compared to the old mechanism used in iOS 9 and older.” This has been possible since Apple has skipped certain security checks in iOS 10 that it used to previously do with iOS 9 and older.
