As we charge into 2017, the rumor mill refuses to stop spreading iPhone 8 related stuff in the cloud. This yet another iPhone 8 rumor suggests that Apple is indeed making huge changes to its upcoming flagship device.
According to Ming-Chi Kuo of the KGI Securities Apple is considering an all-new “function area” right below the main OLED display of the iPhone 8. This change is only expected in an OLED display panel which will measure in at 5.8-inches.
The important aspects to note here are that out of 5.8-inch OLED display panel a section of 5.15-inch will be used as the main display, while the rest of the space below the display will be taken up by the Function Area.
Kuo believes that this new Function Area could work just like the Touch Bar Apple introduced in its latest crop of MacBook Pro. The virtual buttons will appear in that area and it could also be used for other actions as well. Kuo reiterates that this Function Area on iPhone 8 will indeed replace the Touch ID feature of the current iPhone.
The security analyst believed that Apple will introduce an all-new biometric security tech in iPhone 8 that will completely replace the Home button and the Touch ID feature. We have also heard of features such as facial recognition to make its way onto the iPhone 8.
So far, numerous reports and rumors claim iPhone 8 to bring major design changes including an all-glass and steel body with Galaxy S7Edge like curved sides, wireless charging, an OLED display, and it could cost more than $1,000.
If the above mentioned features really make their way into the final version of the iPhone 8, would you be willing to pay more than $1,000 to get your hands onto Apple’s upcoming iPhone?
