ios 10.3

We are getting closer to see the final release of iOS 10.3 software update for general public consumption. Apple has not released the 5th beta for its upcoming iOS 10.3 firmware update to the registered iOS Developers. With this 5th beta release, it is highly likely that we will be seeing the final release in a couple of coming weeks.

ios 10.3 beta 5

The iOS 10.3 beta 5 comes with numerous new additions, but the most noticeable one is the inclusion of Find My AirPods feature. This new feature allows users to locate their missing AirPod if the user somehow misplace it or it gets lost/stolen. The SiriKit also gets support for paying bills and more with iOS 10.3 beta releases.

If you’re a developer and your device is also running a beta version of iOS 10.3, you can easily update to iOS 10.3 beta 5 as an Over-The-Air update by going in Settings > General > Software update.

Here is what we have learned so far about the new features meant to be pushed to the iOS users through iOS 10.3 final version:

Find my AirPods feature in the Find my iPhone app.
Safari for web apps gets Reduced Motion support.
Support for paying bills, schedule future ride-hailing rides, and check the status of payments, in the SiriKit.
Dedicated shortcut for recently used apps in the CarPlay.
EV charging locations can be seen in CarPlay.
Conversations in the Mail app gets better navigation.
HomeKit gets support for the expanded switch accessories.
New 3D Touch actions for the Weather.
Border added to the Spotlight Search.
The Podcasts gets its own widget.
New user security section in the Settings.
App compatibility gets much attention in iOS 10.3 beta releases. The stock Settings app now has a dedicated section for “App Compatibility” under General > About. A list of apps shows what app would work with the future version of iOS. Tapping on the app will take the user to the App Store page of that app where he ca see when the app was last updated.
