Apple is rolling out yet another beta version for its upcoming iOS 10.3 software update. To date, the iOS 10.3 has seen seven beta release for the registered iOS developers. Beta releases are meant for developers or public beta testers to for testing the operating system on compatible iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch devices.
Some of the prominent new feature included in iOS 10.3 firmware update are Find My AirPods support, an all-new Apple’s filesystem, CarPlay improvements, and more. The Find my AirPods feature is designed to help AirPods owners to locate their lost AirPod. It also keeps a record of the last known location of when the AirPod was connected to an iOS device through Bluetooth and can also play a sound on the lost AirPod.
Apple is also switching to a new file system dubbed as Apple File System (APS) in iOS 10.3. When users would update their device to iOS 10.3, its file system will automatically be updated to the newer one. The AFS is said to be flash/SSD optimized and better at encryption.
With iOS 10.3 update, developers will be able to respond to customer reviews for the first time. Users will also be able to mark different reviews as “Helpful” or “Not Helpful”, which should result in surfacing most relevant review content.
The inclusion of such features in iOS 10.3 makes it a big software update for iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch devices. If you are already rocking any beta version of iOS 10.3 on your device, you can update to the latest beta using built-in Over-the-Air update profile. It can also be downloaded from the Apple Developer Center.
