Samsung Officially Unveils Its New Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ Smartphones [Video]

Samsung had a bit of a rough ending to 2016, so all eyes are on the company to make a big comeback in 2017. To make that happen, the company needs a new flagship smartphone. As such, Samsung has taken its latest Unpacked event in New York City to unveil the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+. The newest flagship smartphone features all the essentials: big high-definition display, powerful processor, noteworthy camera, and more. And Samsung has also thrown in plenty of features to sweeten the deal for potential buyers.

Here’s both devices features, they are almost the same:

Meanwhile, the Galaxy S8+’s primary differences are:

• 6.2-inch QHD+ (2880 x 1440)
• 3500mAh battery

The handset also comes with some impressive software features, with Bixby — Samsung’s AI assistant — being the key highlight. Similar to other virtual assistants out there, Bixby will keep you up to date with content like weather, reminders, alarms. Dubbed Hello Bixby, this page will act as a home screen of the assistant. In addition, there is also Bixby Vision that lets you quickly scan an object and search for its reviews and price online. This feature is baked into the camera app of the handset, which can now be opened by double pressing the power button.

And, finally, Samsung will also be launching a dock-like accessory for the Galaxy S8 called Samsung DeX a.k.a Desktop Experience Station. After docking the phone into the station, users will be able to hook the device to a TV through the HDMI port to convert it into a full blown PC. The dock will charge the phone wirelessly and feature two full-sized USB 2.0 ports and an ethernet port. To ensure there are no overheating issues, the dock comes with an integrated cooling fan and a power supply of its own.
