iOS 11 has come with a gigantic list of new features. Many of these new features couldn’t get the stage time at WWDC 2017. “Auto-Answer Calls” is one such feature that Apple introduced in iOS 11 but didn’t discuss during the unveiling keynote. The Auto-Answer Calls accessibility feature allows iOS users to automatically answer an incoming call after a specified time period.
With iOS 11, Apple has introduced numerous new features inspired by the jailbreak community. This brand new feature available under call audio routing section in Accessibility in one such feature. It allows iOS to automatically answer regular calls that you receive through a cellular network, Wi-Fi calls, audio and video calls over FaceTime, and any VoIP calls received from any third-party app that uses Apple’s CallKit framework, such as WhatsApp, Skype, Viber and more.
Why Auto-Answer Calls?
Auto-Answer Calls feature is a nifty new feature of iOS 11. You can use it while jogging with your AirPods or when you’re using PowerBeats in your ears. There are many other scenarios where interacting with your iPhone may become impractical. For instance, when your have both your hands busy doing some work, or maybe when you’re driving, or even when you’re swimming with your Apple Watch on.
The auto-answer calls feature is disabled by default. However, it is pretty easy to enable it.
How to enable Auto Answer Calls on iPhone
To enable “Auto-Answer calls” feature on your iPhone, you must have an iOS 11 compatible device. If you want to try iOS 11 beta, we have a detailed guide on how to install iOS 11 beta without a developer account. Once your iPhone is running iOS 11, simply follow these steps:
- Launch the Settings app.
- Go to General.
- Tap on Accessibility.
- Go to Call Audio Routing.
- At the bottom, you should see a brand new sub-menu “Auto-Answer Calls.” Tap on it.
- Now switch the toggle to ON state to enable the auto call answering feature.
- You can also set the during of time your iPhone should wait before automatically answering the incoming call for you.
Apple did not mention this handy new feature at the time of introducing the iOS 11 and this feature is not available on iOS 10 or earlier versions. Apple is all set to release iOS 11 later this Fall. Will be you be using this nifty new feature called Auto-Answering Calls, and why?
