The primary focus of Apple in iOS 11.1.2 release is to fix the unresponsive touch screen of iPhone X when it is used in cold weather or as the Apple put it, “after a rapid temperature drop.” Other than that the iOS 11.1.2 is meant to fix a bug that could cause the distortion in Live Photos and videos that a user records on his/her iPhone X.

The unresponsive iPhone X screen in cold weather bug was first discovered and reported by a Reddit user and since then the bug gained traction within the tech community. Apple had to come forward with an acknowledgment and that the company is working on releasing a fix for the issue.

Many iPhone X owners noticed the unresponsiveness of their iPhone X screen as soon as they stepped outside. In under a few seconds, the screen becomes unresponsive to the touches and swipes and it was very noticeable.

Apple has released the iOS 11.1.2 IPSW files for all the compatible iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch devices. But just know that you won’t be getting any other major changes or features. Apple is currently beta testing iOS 11.2 which is meant to bring major new features such as Apple Pay Cash mobile payment platform and other improvements. The final version of iOS 11.2 is expected to be available to general public in coming few weeks.
