Today is a big day for Apple TV, both the set-top box and the Apple TV app, now that the Amazon Prime Video app is officially available.

As first noted by 9to5Mac’s Zac Hall, the old @iTunesMovies account has been rebranded with the new @AppleTV handle while at the same time the old @iTunesMovies handle is now protected so it can’t be reused outside of Apple.

Apple creates dedicated TV app account on Twitter

The rebranded account’s first tweet promotes the arrival of the highly anticipated Prime Video app for Apple TV which finally released this morning on tvOS App Store. It also highlights a new Live Sports feature which was introduced in the TV app with iOS 11.2 and tvOS 11.2 this week.

There is a video that is included with the tweet not only shows off the app, but also the arrival of Amazon Prime Video — which officially launched today (finally). It also shows off that the Apple TV app supports live sports, which will help fans keep tabs on their favorite teams without having to jump from different apps.
