Apple previewed iOS 11.3 on January 24 and announced that the final version of the software update will be available for public consumption sometime in Spring 2018. Ahead of the public release, Apple has released the first beta of iOS 11.3 to the developers.
The iOS 11.3 beta 1 is now available to developers so that they may test the software and make their apps compatible with it ahead of its public release. It is likely the first of the many beta releases coming in the weeks ahead. iOS 11.3 is meant to bring numerous new features including an updated version of the ARKit, the addition of new Animoji characters for the iPhone X, and much more.
Here is a quick rundown of the new features that will be available on iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch through iOS 11.3.
Developers will get ARKit 1.5. With this update, developers will be able to make a far more immersive experience in their augmented reality supporting apps. iOS 11.3 software update will bring four new Animoji characters to the iPhone X. These four new Animoji characters include a lion, a dragon, a bear, and a skull.
The software update will also bring iMessages for Business that will allow users to quickly chat with a specific organization, such as, a bank without providing any personal information unless the user specifically sends it.
Your health data will be more secure with this update. The user will be able to share his/her medical data with different medical services and providers. iOS 11.3 will also include battery health indicator allowing iPhone 6 or newer device owners to get battery health information.
With iOS 11.3 software update, Apple Music streaming service will also get music videos. Developers will be able to add HomeKit support to existing accessories while protecting privacy and security. After removing from iOS 11 beta, Apple has finally brought back the Messages in iCloud feature in iOS 11.3.
For now the first iOS 11.3beta is available to registered developers only, however, the company has confirmed that it will soon be available to public beta testers as well.
