A new report by Bloomberg claims that Apple is looking to source cobalt, an essential metal required in the production of batteries for the iPad and iPhones. Although the iPhone battery is manufactured by a third party, its increasing reliance on cobalt, combined with worries about a potential shortage in the future, is reportedly making Apple take this step.
