When Apple released iOS 11 last year, it highlighted ARKit as one of its core new features. With ARKit, Apple was going to bring augmented reality to the mainstream by allowing developers to integrate it into their apps and games. Since then, data from Sensor Tower shows that ARKit apps have been downloaded over 13 million times by iPhone and iPad owners.
