Apple has just released the second beta of iOS 11.4 software update. The iOS 11.4 beta 2 download is available to those who have enrolled in Apple developer program. If you’re a registered iOS developer, you can download and install iOS 11.4 beta 2 from Apple’s dedicated developer site.
A few weeks ago, Apple had released the final version of iOS 11.3 and then it released the beta version of iOS 11.4 for developers to test. The beta stage of the upcoming iOS 11.4 is expected to continue for a few more beta releases until a final version is pushed to the general public.
It remains to be seen whether Apple included anything new in the second beta of iOS 11.4. However, the first beta brought AirPlay 2 feature so that the Apple devices can be listed in the Home app again. The previous beta also added support for the Stereo speaker for the HomePod, but it is not yet working because an update for the HomePod software is also required. iOS 11.4 is also set to bring back Message in iCloud feature. For a detailed rundown, please check out iOS 11.4 features.
IF you want to install iOS 11.4 beta 2, you must either have access to Apple developer website to download the full-sized IPSW file or have properly configured the beta profile on your test device to install it as an OTA update. If you are not sure about the process, check out iOS 11.4 beta installation guide.
The Public Beta testers will likely receive the first beta update in a few days. It is still very early to know all the new features that Apple plans on pushing in the final version. So, we will update you as we find anything new in this second beta of iOS 11.4 software update. If you have already installed iOS 11.4 beta 2 on your device, please do let us know if you come across something new.
