It’s been just a day since Apple released the final version of iOS 12, and we already have a video demo of untethered iOS 12 jailbreak. Security researchers at Alibaba’s Pandora Labs have successfully jailbreak iOS 12 final version. That was real quick!
As shown in the video embedded below, the security researcher uses Pandora app to jailbreak iOS 12 on an iPhone X. The jailbreak also seems to be an untethered one, because the researcher reboots the device after jailbreak and it boots up perfectly fine. Which means there won’t be any need of a jailbreak IPA to re-jailbreak your iPhone or iPad after a reboot.
It is highly unlikely that the researchers at Pandora Lab are going to make this iOS 12 jailbreak public as they do it primarily for security purposes. While that is disappointing, the good news is that the final version of IOS 12 software update is not jailbreak-proof and that too untethered. So, we can pin our hopes on hackers like coolstar and hope that they find out the loopholes and come up with Electra Jailbreak for iOS 12.
Back in the month of June, Liang Chen – security researcher at KeenLab, had managed to jailbreak iOS 12 on an iPhone X. Over the weekend, Simone Ferrini – another security researcher, tweeted that he had managed to pwn the 12th beta of iOS 12.
We will update you as we learn more about iOS 12 jailbreak.
