Are you locked out of your Apple ID for no reason? You are not alone. Numerous Apple users have turned to the social reporting that they are unable to log into their Apple ID which has forced them to reset their password. So far, there’s no clear reason whatsoever as to why Apple users were locked account of their accounts.
Those who were locked out of their accounts were able to regain access by providing the answer to their set secret question and entering a phone number to get a verification code. After that, the users were required to reset their Apple ID password and use a new one.
If your account is one of the affected ones, you will get a notification on your iPhone, iPad, or the Mac telling you that some of your Apple ID-related settings need to be updated. You won’t have access to your iMessage, FaceTime, and other Apple services until you update these settings in your Apple ID account.
@AppleSupport Both myself and a colleague got inexplicably locked out of our Apple ID accounts this morning + both had to recover our accounts and make a new Apple ID passwords. I see we are not alone. What is going on? I am anxious about my bank details

The company is yet to issue a statement on the matter. There is also a possibility that Apple has taken this step as a security measure in order to prevent a perceived threat or it may just be an Apple server or database related error.

Such incidents are good reminders to enable two-factor authentication for your Apple ID if you have not already done it.
Were your Apple ID locked recently without any reason? Let us know in the comments section below.
My AppleID was locked "for security reasons" this afternoon. I rarely type the password, have 2FA enabled, noticed nothing odd, and received no indication of the lock. I wonder if something interesting is going on?
Was anyone else's AppleID account locked recently?
