Bloomberg businessweek published a story title “Mapping a Path out of Steve Job’s Shadow†and it discussed life at Apple after Steve Jobs death.
Basically most of them were interviews with employees and what they thought of the whole scenario.
After Job’s died a lot of office politics rose up and with the arrival of more employees it seems that the Apple culture will be diluted. The company overall seems to be happier and even more transparent as to what some say.
There is less pressure, no more late calls at night, no more cutting vacations, and a lot more. No one wants to say Apple is better off after Jobs went. Though many of the products that Apple made reflected Job’s design preferences and everything, the iPhone 5 was the last model that had a lot of input from Steve Jobs.
Some say Job’s might have axed out the new Maps before the launch although that could have only be known had he been alive. Siri was introduced under jobs and some even say that it was Jobs who initiated the Mapping project. There were even rumors that Jobs wanted the Google search to be removed from the iOS but that would have been total catastrophe.
When Senior Vice President Bob Mansfeld retired, several senior engineers in Mansfield’s team vociferously complained to Cook about reporting his replacement, Dan Riccio, who the engineers felt could not handle such a role. This made Cook give Mansfield a package of stock and cash worth $2 million a month so he could stay on at Apple as an advisor and help the engineering team.
Theres a lot more to this and can be read from the Bloomberg story HERE.
