Apple has just seeded its 4th beta for iOS 6.1 for all iOS devices which including its devices, iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, and Apple TV. The update is only available to registered developers who are enrolled in the iOS development program. But the good news with the release is that they can make a TETHERED JAILBREAK on the iOS 6.1 beta 4 thanks to the ready jailbreaking tool, Redsn0w.

Before any talking, steps or watching, you can download the latest versions of iOS 6.1 by doing the next simple steps:

Go to Settings – General- Software Update then download and install..
This delta update rings in at a modest 56.5 MB, while the full fledged update comes in at 896 MB when downloaded directly from Apple’s developer portal.

What about the Notes:

  1. This jailbreak is for pre-A5 devices.
  2. This jailbreak is a tethered jailbreak only.
  3. This jailbreak is for developers only.


Step 1: Download iOS 6.1 beta 4 for your device as we explained above.

Step 2: Download the latest version of RedSn0w (0.9.15b3) from The links below.

  • RedSn0w 0.9.15 beta 3 for Mac
  • Redsn0w 0.9.15 beta 3 for Windows
Step 3: Open Redsnow after connecting your device to the computer.

Step 4: Put your device into DFU mode.

Step 5: Click Extras > Select IPSW > and select the iOS 6.0 IPSW. RedSn0w 0.9.15b3 should successfully identify the firmware.

Step 6: On the main page of RedSn0w click Jailbreak and be sure Install Cydia is checked, then click Next to finish.

Step 7: After that your device will appear back on the Lock screen, then Place the device back into DFU mode.

Step 8: Repeat step 5 again.

Step 9: Click Boot tethered, and a tethered boot will be performed on your device.
Step 10: Once the tethered boot is complete, you should be back at your device’s Lock screen. unlock the device, and swipe over to the second page. It may take a few seconds, but eventually you should see the Cydia icon appear. Open Cydia and let it perform its initial configuration and setup.
