VLC Gestures is a brand new tweak that just hit Cydia, and it allows you to incorporate gesture based control into your VLC workflow. Take a gander at our video walkthrough highlighting VLC Gestures inside…
The multitouch options included with VLC Gestures are fairly straightforward. A two finger tap will toggle basic play and pause control. A swipe from left to right will skip ahead 30 seconds, and a swipe in the opposite direction will shift back 10 seconds.
A swipe up or down on the right-hand side of the screen will increase or decrease the volume of the movie, while a swipe on the left hand side of the screen adjusts the screen brightness. Keep in mind, that while all of this is going on, a handy HUD overlay shows what your gestures are doing.
In the tweak’s preferences you’ll find three settings: a kill switch, and two settings for adjusting the time intervals associated with the left and right swipes on the screen. The times can be changed between 10, 20, 30 seconds, or a full minute. No resprings are required to enact any of the changes.
