Tim Cook apparently handed out autographed iPhones to China Mobile customers along with China Mobile’s Chairman Xi Guohua.
According to a new report from Bloomberg, it says that people asked Tim Cook about the company’s plans to launch an iPhone with a bigger screen and use of flexible displays, and his answer was:
“We never talk about future things,†Cook said. “We have great things we are working on but we want to keep them secret. That way you will be so much happier when you see it.â€
In the past few days, we’ve seen a group of rumors claiming that Apple is working on 5.7-inch iPhone 6 and 12.9-inch iPad.
Tim Cook has previously downplayed the need for Apple to launch an iPhone with a bigger screen as he felt it comes with a lot of tradeoffs. Here’s what he had to say at AllThingsD’s D11 conference few months back:
When you look at the size, but they also look at things like do the photos show the proper color? The white balance, the reflectivity, battery life. The longevity of the display. There are a bunch of things that are very important. What our customers want is for us to weigh those and come out with a decision. At this point we think the Retina Display is the best.
In a hypothetical world where those tradeoffs didn’t exist, you could see a bigger screen as a differentiate.
So what do you think the “Big great things” really is ? I hope we see a large screen iPhone.
