Screenshots on smartphones have grown in demand as users share their problems online and interact with support communities through these pictures. You might also know that the screenshots taken are automatically loaded on the iCloud Photo Stream, which can become inconvenient to keep over time and also annoying.

But you can avoid this through Screenshot Dam, a jailbreak app that prevents screenshots from being loaded to the Photo Steam without your permission. Though it has been available for some time, the tweak now works with arm67 devices running iOS 7.

After you install it on your jailbroken iPhone, you don’t have to configure anything and your screenshots will stay out of the Photo Stream. You can even test it by visiting the camera roll after taking screenshots and glimpsing over the Photo Stream later on.

You can manually upload any screenshot to the shared Photo Stream. However, there is no way to get the screenshot in your Photo Stream at this time, an option that would greatly improve the tweak. Further options to disable the tweak from the Settings menu and tinker with the Photo Stream manually would be a welcome addition.

Screenshot Dam can be downloaded from Cydia’s BigBoss repository free of cost. Let us know if you give it a try and feel free to leave comments.
