New Apple TV launch not imminent, not related to Apple’s $25 iTunes gift card deal

Earlier today, Apple unveiled a new promotion that offers a $25 iTunes gift card with every purchase of an Apple TV. This kicked off speculation that Apple was trying to move existing inventory ahead of a new Apple TV launch. Jim Dalrymple of The Loop squashed this rumor, when he responded with a resounding “Nope” in reply to questions about the Apple TV.
