Apple and Samsung are undergoing court battle at this time; with Apple convinced that the rival took iOS copyrighted features. Given that Samsung has already lost once time and had to pay 1 billion (that was later reduced on appeal), it is safe to say that Samsung has developed a certain repute, which has been revealed by Apple in its latest advert campaign.

Pushing character for green energy, Apple’s ad says ‘there are some ideas we want every company to copy’, taking a dig at Samsung. The ad shows solar panels, and how the tech industry needs to contribute to planet Earth’s longevity.

The ad further notes:

There’s one area where we actually encourage others to imitate us. . .We’d be more than happy to see every data center fuelled by 100 per cent renewable energy sources. And we eagerly await the day when every product is made without the harmful toxins we have removed from ours.

As it was Earth Day, Apple is one of the companies that will be showing their green efforts and steps taken to reduce their carbon footprint. The ad, spotted in the Metro and The Guardian, may have good intentions, but the rivalry and bitterness between Apple and Samsung can be clearly seen.

Apple is certainly setting good examples for the tech industry (and a fair warning to its rivals to never copy its products).
