Apple confirms NFC is limited to Apple Pay on iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus

While the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus feature an NFC chip under the hood, an Apple spokesperson has confirmed to Cult of Mac that the technology will be limited to powering the Apple Pay mobile payments platform. The technology will not be accessible by developers for third-party apps, and the spokesperson declined to comment on other potential uses of the antenna in the future.
