Guys on iOS 8 will be happy to know that SwiftKey has just announced earlier today that its new iOS 8 keyboard has already surpassed 1 million downloads in the first day only. The news comes just 24 hours after Apple released the software update, which activated support for third party iOS keyboards.
At the time of writing this post, SwiftKey app is the #1 app in the Top Free chart of the US App Store. Other third-party keyboard apps like Swype and Fleksy are also sitting at the top of their respective charts, as users rush to try out the new feature.
A big reason for its early success, I believe, is the fact that the SwiftKey keyboard is totally free, where other options are priced between $1 and $5. It doesn’t even contain any IAPs, although I’m sure that’ll change to match its Android offering.
SwiftKey Keyboard for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch is a smart keyboard that learns from you, replacing your device’s built-in keyboard with one that adapts to the way you type. The app learns your writing style to give you super-accurate autocorrect and intelligent next-word prediction, reducing keystrokes and getting smarter over time. SwiftKey Keyboard is loaded with features to make typing even easier, including multilingual typing and speedy swipe typing with SwiftKey Flow.
What do you think guys ?
