iCloud is down: some users reporting outage on Mac, iPhone and iPad [Update: Confirmed]

A number of Twitter users on Monday evening are reporting that iCloud is inaccessible due to what appears to be downtime affecting select Mac and iPhone, iPad and iPod touch owners. The outage is ongoing in the United States, Canada and potentially other regions, as this downtime appears to be a more widescale problem.
